Selfie Contest

May 1st – 21st (midnight)


For the second year, Celebrate CB will be hosting the Selfie Contest and giving area residents a chance to win big! People can simply take their “selfie” at one or all of our 10  locations (to be announced on May 1st, 2016) and post them to Instagram, Twitter or on the Celebrate CB Facebook page using the Hashtag #unleashyourun. All entries will be entered into our drawing for a chance to win one of three prizes.  Contest starts on May 1st and entries are due by midnight on Saturday, May 21st!  More information and the announcement of the prize packages will be on www.celebratecb.com on May 1st.

Celebrate @ the River


May 13th – 7:30pm


Celebrate CB 2016 “Unleash Your Un” will kick off this year’s events at Stir Cove with a special free Concert by Yacht Rock Revue sponsored by Stir Cove in conjunction with their 13th anniversary.  Council Bluffs Mayor, Matt Walsh will begin the festivities with the opening proclamation at 7:30 pm followed by the unveiling of the city’s new image campaign and the announcement of the Celebrate CB’s 2016 Grand Marshal.  Yacht Rock Revue will begin at 8 pm.  The Yacht Rock Revue™ is the Greatest Show on Surf and the finest tribute to ‘70s light rock to ever perform anywhere. Ever.  Their spot-on renditions of Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, and the rest of the Time-Life Infomercial Catalog have enthralled fans across the United States.


Clean Sweep

May 17th


Sponsored by Live Well Council Bluffs, Clean Sweep has been a traditional part of Celebrate CB. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. in Bayliss Park. Prizes will be awarded for most litter collected, most unique item found and team spirit!

A light supper will be provided after the clean-up (approximately 7:00 p.m.). The rain date is Wednesday, May 18. Teams and individuals can sign up for this city clean-up effort at www.livewellcouncilbluffs.org



May 19th – 21st


Join us for three days of carnival fun! Rides will be located on the south portion of Bayliss Park. The carnival will begin Thursday, May 15th- Saturday, May 17th. Times: Thursday, May 19: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Friday, May 20: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Saturday, May 21: 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Wristbands/pricing will be available soon on celebratecb.com


Ag Committee Spring Cookout


May 20th


The Ag Committee spring cookout in Bayliss Park has long been a traditional part of Celebrate CB activities.  The committee serves up steak sandwiches and hamburgers from 11 am to 2 pm at Bayliss Park.  Proceeds go toward college scholarships for area students studying agri-business.  Prices are $6.00 and $8.00 and include chips and a drink.


Celebrate CB Parade & Bayliss Park Activities

May 21st

10:30 am


This Council Bluffs traditional parade brings the Downtown Council Bluffs area to life every May. The Theme this year is “Unleash Your Un! Parade Starts at 10:30 am. The route begins and ends in Downtown Council Bluffs, and is centered on the historical and beautiful Bayliss Park area.  After the parade, activities abound in the park including music, kid’s activities and carnival rides.
