Selfie Contest

May 1st – 20th (midnight)

For the third year, Celebrate CB will be hosting the Selfie Contest and giving area residents a chance to win big! People can simply take their “selfie”according to our instructions (to be announced on May 1st, 2016) and post them to Instagram, Twitter or on the Celebrate CB Facebook page using the Hashtag #CBJustGettingStarted. All entries will be entered into our drawing for a chance to win one of three prizes.  Contest starts on May 1st and entries are due by midnight on Saturday, May 21st!  More information and the announcement of the prize packages will be on www.celebratecb.com on May 1st.

Celebrate @ the River

May 12th- 7:30pm

Celebrate CB 2017 “CB, Just Getting Started” will kick off at Hanafan Rivers Edge Park with a free Concert by Taxi Driver. The Great American Cookout will begin at 5:00 pm.  Council Bluffs Mayor, Matt Walsh will begin the festivities with the opening proclamation at 6:00 pm followed by the the announcement of the Celebrate CB’s 2016 Grand Marshal. Taxi Driver will begin at 7:00 pm.


Clean Sweep

May 16th – Rain Date May 17th

Sponsored by Live Well Council Bluffs, Clean Sweep has been a traditional part of Celebrate CB. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. in Bayliss Park. Prizes will be awarded for most litter collected, most unique item found and team spirit!

A light supper will be provided after the clean-up (approximately 7:00 p.m.). The rain date is Wednesday, May 18. Sign up information coming soon.




May 18th – 20th

Join us for three days of carnival fun! Rides will be located on the south portion of Bayliss Park. The carnival will begin Thursday, May 18th- Saturday, May 20th. Times: Thursday, May 18: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Friday, May 19: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Saturday, May 20: 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Wristbands/pricing will be available soon on celebratecb.com


Ag Committee Spring Cookout

May 19th

The Ag Committee spring cookout in Bayliss Park has long been a traditional part of Celebrate CB activities.  The committee serves up steak sandwiches and hamburgers from 11 am to 2 pm at Bayliss Park.  Proceeds go toward college scholarships for area students studying agri-business.  Prices are $6.00 and $8.00 and include chips and a drink.


Celebrate CB Parade & Bayliss Park Activities

May 20th
10:30 am

This Council Bluffs traditional parade brings the Downtown Council Bluffs area to life every May. The Theme this year is “CB Just Getting Started! Parade Starts at 10:30 am. The route begins and ends in Downtown Council Bluffs, and is centered on the historical and beautiful Bayliss Park area.  After the parade, activities abound in the park including music, kid’s activities and carnival rides.
